Privacy Policy
This policy explains how the private Fern Media operations app accesses, uses, stores and shares Google user data. The app is used by the owner and approved team members to operate original educational media workflows.
Google data we access
- Google Sheets: spreadsheets the app creates or that the user explicitly authorizes, including channel registries, workflow status, approved production records, costs and reports.
- Google Drive: files and folders the app creates or that the user explicitly selects for use with the app.
- Account authorization information: the identifiers and OAuth credentials needed to keep the approved connection working.
The app does not request access to Gmail or Google Calendar for this use case, and it does not request broad access to unrelated Drive files.
How we use Google data
Google data is used only to organize media operations requested by the user: maintaining registries, storing approved work products, tracking workflow state, and producing internal operating reports. Connecting Google does not authorize channel creation, spending or publishing.
AI-assisted processing
When the owner later enables an approved AI workflow, content intentionally selected for that workflow may be sent to the configured AI service provider to perform the requested research, drafting, checking or analysis. This is not enabled merely by connecting Google, and human approval gates remain in place.
Storage and security
Authorization credentials are stored in restricted-access files on the owner's private server. Operational records remain in the owner's Google account and private server. Access is limited to the owner, approved operators and service providers needed to perform the requested function.
Sharing and sale
Fern Media does not sell Google user data. Data is not used for advertising. It is shared only with Google, the infrastructure providers needed to run the app, and any AI provider explicitly configured for an owner-approved workflow, as described above.
Retention and deletion
Data is retained only while needed for the owner's operations, legal obligations and audit history. The owner may revoke Google access at any time through Google Account permissions. Requests to delete app-held credentials or operational copies can be sent to the contact below.
Your choices
You can decline or revoke access without making business records public. Revoking access stops new automated Sheets and Drive activity but does not automatically delete files already created in your Google account.
Changes
This policy will be updated when the app's data use changes. The effective date above identifies the current version.
